WNZR 90.9 FM's annual fundraising initiative, Lifeline 2024, offers listeners an opportunity to pledge their support for the radio station. This year, the goal is set at $70,000.

"We are so thankful for those that have supported WNZR throughout the years," said Joe Rinehart, director of Broadcasting at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) and co-host of WNZR’s Afternoon Drive, according to a press release from MVNU. "That support helps us stay focused on what we are all about — broadcasting an uplifting message that encourages listeners and families every day to believe! Your partnership is also an investment in our students to help them develop their communication skills and serve our community."

According to another MVNU press release, the theme of Lifeline 2024 is "I Believe It," inspired by a song by John Reddick. The verse chosen for Lifeline 2024 is John 3:16 – "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (NIV)." This verse reaffirms belief in God's immense love as manifested through Jesus' life and victory over death.

Senior Communication and Media major Mike Basko described "I Believe It" as the essence of their faith, according to another MVNU press release. Basko stated that no one currently alive witnessed Jesus on earth; hence their entire lives are based on faith that Jesus lived, died, and rose again. The assertion of Jesus’ life as truth demonstrates their complete trust in Jesus and encapsulates their faith and life perspective in three words: 'I Believe It.'"

As per another MVNU press release, WNZR offers appreciation gifts for donations at specific levels under Lifeline 2024. Any donor will receive a Lifeline 2024 refrigerator magnet. A donation of $10 per month also garners a Lifeline 2024 mouse pad. A monthly donation of $25 earns the donor an official Lifeline 2024 T-shirt, while those donating $50 per month receive a WNZR Bluetooth speaker.

The MVNU press release further mentioned a Lifeline Challenge aimed at encouraging families to support WNZR’s ministry by pledging a monthly donation of $25 over the next 12 months. The Lifeline Choice Challenge on Tuesday, March 26, from 4-6 p.m., offers donors gift cards in return for their pledges to restaurants including Southside Diner, Papa John’s Pizza, and Wendy’s of Mount Vernon. The Matching Challenge Day is Wednesday, March 27. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., listeners can have their pledge money doubled thanks to generous supporters.
