Dorothy L. Marchal, 92, of Mount Vernon passed away on October 15, 2023, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home. She was born October 16, 1930, to Ira and Emma (Strickling) Gantz.

Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon where she served as a Deaconess and was very active for many years. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. Dorothy was a member of the Country Culture Club. She was an excellent knitter and cook. Dorothy was a member of the Tea Leaf China Club and collected tea leaf china. She was also a long-time member of the Social Committee at First Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Eugene Marchal; daughters Marilyn (Doug) Franck of Columbus, OH and Beverly Beckley of Thurston, OH; grandchildren Amy (Matt) Besier and Joel (Krista) Franck both of Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren Emerson and Adelena; a sister Carolyn Wood of Dublin, OH; sister-in-law Betty B. Beckley of Mount Vernon, OH; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Robert Charles Beckley; a brother Richard Gantz and a brother-in-law William C. Beckley.

Calling hours was be Monday, October 23, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 303 S. Edgewood Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Funeral services was be at 12:00pm with graveside services following at Moundview Cemetery.

We, her family, are all comforted knowing we was see her in heaven and now that she is experiencing “fullness of joy” in the presence of the Lord Psalm 16:11
