Obituaries: Wanda J. McClain | Snyder Funeral Homes

Wanda J. McClain, age 92, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on October 21, 1930, in Danville, Ohio to the late Arley and Annabelle (Phillips) Smith. Wanda was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Danville, was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #4027, was a member of the Amvets Post #95, and also the Colonial City Women of the Moose Chapter #100.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Lisa) Lang, Richard Lang, Donald (Judy) Lang; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her brother Larry (Margaret) Smith.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Elmer G. McClain; her sisters, Francis Maceroy, Alice Coffield, Corretta Anderson, Marcella Goossens, and Dorothy Little; and her brothers Earl Smith, Glenn Smith, and Merle Smith.

In keeping with Wanda’s wishes, there was be no calling hours. A graveside service was be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, beginning at 11AM in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Mr. Roger Marra officiating.
