Blake Sipes was a force in the air and on the ground for Fredericktown (3-4, 2-2) on Friday night, tallying all four of the team’s touchdowns in a 28-14 win over Loudonville (2-5, 1-3) in what was his best overall game of the season so far.
The Freddies had a 14-0 lead to start the game in the first quarter, but the Redbirds tacked on a score in the second quarter to make it 14-7. The Freddies made it 20-7 going into the fourth quarter, and then outscored Loudonville 8-7 in the final quarter to take the two touchdown victory.
Sipes was 8-for-13 for 197 yards and three passing touchdowns. He also carried the ball 20 times for 82 yards with a score. The top option for Sipes was Gavin Toombs, who caught eight passes for 55 yards and three touchdowns. Grant Hartley had two catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Trevor Bellman had 18 yards rushing and a 10 yard catch.
On defense for the Freddies, Lane Warner led the way with 8.5 tackles and a fumble recovery. Brode Davis also recovered a fumble. Hartley picked off a pass and had two tackles. Dalton Lang had 6.5 tackles with 1.5 tackles for a loss.
