Mapleton secures 40-33 victory over Northmor despite Carson Campbell’s three touchdowns

Northmor (2-1, 0-0) had a one-point lead heading into the final quarter, but Mapleton (2-1, 0-0) stepped up in the fourth to put eight points on the board and take a 40-33 win despite a huge three-touchdown performance by sophomore Carson Campbell of Northmor.

Mapleton had an 8-0 lead after one quarter and a 24-12 lead at halftime, but Northmor came back out in the second half and had a 21-8 third quarter advantage. Mapleton came back to take the late-game win in the fourth quarter.

Campbell had 17 carries for 213 yards, including a 62-yard run, to go with three touchdowns. A.J. Bower was 7-for-20 with 130 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also had three carries for 11 yards. Bodden Landin caught four passes, with two for touchdowns, and 96 yards. Jax Wenger was the leader on defense for Northmor with 13 tackles. Paul Cramer had an interception, Vance Johnson caused a fumble and Garrett Harvey recovered two fumbles.
