The Danville Blue Devils football program recently took a moment to recognize the athletes who excelled during the offseason. The program highlighted players for their achievements in accountability, team competitions, and academic excellence as part of their commitment to "Finish the Mission" in 2025.
According to the program, Senior Landon King emerged as the 2025 Accountability Points Champion with 243 points, closely followed by juniors Tyson Payne with 232 points and Austin Addair with 228 points. King's leadership extended beyond individual accolades as he captained Team Black alongside junior Aidan Mickley. Their team narrowly defeated Team Blue by four points, accumulating a total of 432 points through various activities.
The Champions Club recognized students from all grade levels who maintained high attendance rates, achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and met specific weight room goals. This year's honorees included seniors such as King, Carson Proper, Wade Nissley, Wesley Payne, and Billy Hood; juniors like Payne, Nolan Ridgway, Owen Gronberg, Mickley, Addair, and Chris Mosher; sophomores including Cyren Wallace and Brycen Burke; and freshmen such as Parker Proper and Caleb Inverso.
Additionally, the Off-Season Team Champions list identified standout players from each grade level. Seniors King and Hood were recognized alongside juniors Mickley and Justice Tharp; sophomores Wallace and Kolton Grant; and freshman Jacob Karn.
"These young men represent what Danville Football is all about," said coaches in a statement. "They’ve embraced discipline, effort, and brotherhood—not just on the field but in the classroom and in the weight room."
With growing momentum and high expectations for the upcoming season, the Blue Devils are prepared to pursue success this fall.
