Danville dominates Fairfield Christian Academy with 41-7 victory

Danville 41, Fairfield Christian Academy 7

Danville was firing on all cylinders in a blowout 41-7 win over Fairfield Christian Academy on Friday night, where Walker Weckesser threw for three touchdowns and Cole Delaughder ran for 171 yards and had a touchdown in both the air and on the ground.

Danville went up 27-0 in the first quarter, highlighted by three touchdown passes and a fumble return for a score by Blake Colopy. The Blue Devils scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter, one on an 18 yard pass play and another on a two yard run by Delaughder.

It was 41-0 at halftime, but the Knights got on the board in the third quarter with a 53-yard-run by Danny Blair. This would be all the scoring for the day for Fairfield Christian Academy, as the Blue Devils were able to win off the first half damage alone.

Weckesser was efficient behind center going 7-for-9 with 84 yards and three touchdowns. Delaughder ran the ball 19 times for 171 yards and a touchdown, while adding a passing touchdown. Jacob Hackman rushed for 41 yards on five carries, with 42 yards coming on a single run. Wesley Norris had a 47-yard run. Josh Byers had three catches for 24 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Also catching touchdown passes were Boeshart, who had two catches for 29 yards, and Nate Stephens who had one catch for 17 yards.

Defensively, Colopy had eight tackles and a pair of fumble recoveries. Weckesser had an interception and a pair of tackles. Bryer Boeshart posted six tackles and an interception. Caleb Lucas forced two fumbles and tallied four tackles.

Danville out up 316 yards on the ground and 402 total yards. They had 21 first downs and held the Knights to only six. Fairfield Christian had 149 total yards on the day.
