On Aug. 24, Hospice of North Central Ohio (HNCO) held its annual Gratitude Picnic, dedicated to expressing gratitude to the veterans, first responders, and their supportive spouses within the community.

The occasion featured a flag folding demonstration by veterans from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, adding a patriotic touch to the festivities.

"It is our privilege to honor the Veterans and First Responders. Without the dedication, commitment, and devotion of these individuals our community would not be the same. We would not experience the freedoms and peace which we are so fortunate to share in. We say thank you to all those who have served!” Danielle England, Volunteer Coordinator for HNCO said.

The event, hosted by HNCO in collaboration with the Energy Cooperative Foundation, aimed to show appreciation for the service and sacrifices made by veterans and first responders.

Attendees enjoyed the festive atmosphere created by Jim Bonnette from Music to Go, who provided musical entertainment throughout the event. HNCO's dedicated volunteers and staff played a pivotal role in setting up, serving food, and ensuring the smooth execution of the picnic, with additional support from Freedom Caregivers.

Hospice of North Central Ohio expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the community, acknowledging that such events could not be successful without the collective effort of everyone involved. The event highlighted the significance of both veterans and first responders in fostering strong and resilient communities.
