Highland 7, Galion 3

Abby Jordan provided some pop in the bat against Galion (5-9, 1-8), leading the Highland Fighting Scots (9-8, 7-3) to a 7-3 win on April 26.

Highland opened the game with a 1-0 lead after one inning and added a run in the fourth. The Fighting Scots put a five-spot on the board in a big seventh inning and were able to hold off Galion, who scored all three of their runs in the final frame.

Jordan drove in three runs, going 2-for-4 with a double to lead the offense for the Fighting Scots. Guinevere Jackson and Aubree Bellamy also posted multi-hit games, with each going 2-for-4. Jackson also was a menace on the base paths, stealing four bases. Kaymi Lewis hit a double, going 1-for-3 on the day. The Fighting Scots tallied 11 hits as a team with other hits coming from Abbi Burke, Dalaynie Hernandez, Brianna Tuggle and Stevie Asher.

Asher was 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI and a pair of walks. In the pitching circle, she picked up the win with a complete game with Lewis behind the plate catching, scattering nine hits, allowing two earned runs and three walks while striking out seven batters.
