Mount Gilead 24, Mansfield 1
A few runs early and a ton of runs late propelled Mount Gilead over Mansfield Christian 24-1 on April 4. The Indians were up 8-0 after three and the softball club erupted for seven runs in the fourth and nine in the sixth to run away with the game. Mount Gilead had 21 hits, with Kierra Main going 5-for-5 and Savannah Wilt driving in six RBIs.
Mount Vernon 7, Fern Creek 3
Down 3-1 after three innings, the Mount Vernon Lady Yellow Jackets scored one in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh to skate past Fern Creek 7-3 on April 4. The Jackets were down 3-2 in the fifth, when McKenzie Krownapple singled in two runs on a 1-2 pitch and MV took the lead it never relinquished. Krownapple finished with three RBIs in the game and Sydney Silvery had two hits.
Highland 10, Pleasant 0
Stevie Asher pitched a three-hit shutout and knocked out three hits with three RBIs to lead Highland over Pleasant 10-0 on April 4. Kate Clements had two hits, including a triple, and drove in four in the win. Asher struck out six and walked one in her 71-pitch gem, and her first-inning single that scored Guinevere Jackson gave her the only run she needed, though the Scots added two more in the first on a Dalaynie Hernandez single.
