KMAC tournament action took place last weekend in Galion. | East Knox High School

The 2023 KMAC Bowling Tournament was held at Victory Lanes in Galion on Feb. 11 and the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates took a close boys division team victory over Northmor and East Knox, while the Northmor Lady Knights won the girls division, with East Knox finishing in second.

In boys competition, Cardington-Lincoln knocked down 3571 pins, to take down Northmor (3534) and East Knox (3433), followed by Mount Gilead (3386), Fredericktown (3270), Crestline (3252), Centerburg (2911) and Ridgedale (2857).

High single game was rolled by Mount Gilead’s Graham Sherbourne at 235. Other 200 games were achieved by Wyatt Irwin, Mount Gilead – 225; Will Jensen, East Knox – 221; Cody Griffin, Crestline – 219; Wesley Hammond, Northmor – 213; Billy Woodring, Fredericktown – 212 and Dylan Kiefer, Cardington-Lincoln – 210.

Kiefer put together the high series with a score of 581. Irwin and Griffin tied for second at 570; Will Jensen, of East Knox, was fourth at 559 and Sherbourne finished fifth at 553.

On the girls’ lanes, Northmor won the event with 3208 pins, besting East Knox at 3037, followed by Cardington-Lincoln (2930), Fredericktown (2922), Ridgedale (2844), Crestline (2623), Centerburg (2433) and Mount Gilead (2417).

High single game was rolled by Ridgedale’s Aubrie Smith, with a 253. Kourtney Rinehart of Northmor was second with a 244 and Olivia Nastasi of East Knox was third with a 226. Other 200 games were rolled by Smith (222), Chloe Stevens of East Knox (210) and Rinehart (200).

High series went to Smith at 647. Rinehart was second at 617 and Nastasi was third with a 610. Emma Rinehart was fourth with 501 and Stevens finished fifth with a 486.

Highland boys sixth, girls fifth in MOAC Tournament

The MOAC also held a tournament last weekend and Highland finished down the leader board. The boys finished in sixth place with 3003 pins and the girls were fifth with 2806.

Rusty Martin rolled Highland’s high game (211) and high series (522) and the team will head for sectionals Saturday at HP Lanes in Columbus.

The Lady Scots finished fifth with 2806 points, in a close battle with less than 200 pins separating fifth place from second place. Elyssa Reigles took team high game (185) and high series (479) for Highland.
