MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Safety Council, sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene, recently awarded grants totaling $12,000. The local program aims to reduce or eliminate injuries or illnesses within school systems.
Each of the following schools will receive $2,000 by March 31 to spend on improvements to safety and security:
- Centerburg local schools
- Danville local schools
- Knox County Career Center
- Knox County Head Start
- Knox Education Service Center
- Mount Vernon city schools
