C. Randy Hurlow, 70, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. | Mike Labrum/Unsplash

MOUNT VERNON – C. Randy Hurlow, 70, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family.

He was born on Dec. 3, 1952, in Mount Vernon to the late Charles R. and Jane M (Beever) Hurlow.

Randy was a United States Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a member of the Knox County Pork Council, Knox County Antique Tractor Club and the Friends of East Harbor State Park. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family at Lake Erie, riding his Harleys, gardening and watching Nascar. He was a proud owner of an antique John Deere tractor and a 1966 blue Oldsmobile Cutlass, which he displayed at car shows.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Seavolt) Hurlow; daughter, Cindy (Les) St. Clair; sons, Chuck (Krystal) Hurlow, Chris (Brandee) Hurlow, Gabe (Brandy) Eddy, Dale (Rita) Eddy Jr. and John Eddy; brother, David (Lynne) Hurlow and twin brother, C. Ronald Hurlow; six grandchildren, Courtney (Cody) Hess, Kole St. Clair, James Hurlow, Miale Hurlow, Peyton Hurlow, Ashlynne Hurlow; and great-grandson, Brantley Hess.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn "Pudd" Alberts.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 2-5 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with military graveside honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
