Most Ohioans say stuffing is their favorite side dish on Thanksgiving day

As Thanksgiving Day approaches, many Ohio families are looking forward to a festive turkey dinner, but what side dishes do they want most to accompany the main course?

Betohio.com set out to learn what is Ohioans’ favorite Thanksgiving side dish. Using a Google Trends analysis, to find which Thanksgiving sides dishes were searched the most between Nov. 1, 2021, and November 30. According to the data, most Ohioans' favorite Thanksgiving side dish is stuffing with 24% of the targeted search results. Barely falling short was macaroni and cheese with 23%. Mashed potatoes and green bean casserole tied for third place with 20% each and sweet potato casserole was fifth with 13%. 

These results were closely reflected when results were broken down by city with small differences. 

"Cleveland favored stuffing at 28%, but Cincinnati and Columbus had mac & cheese (both 25%) at the top of the side dish list. Dayton and Toledo leaned toward veggies with Toledo at 28% and Dayton at 22% favoring green bean casserole," according to betohio.com 

Other popular side dishes not reaching the top include candied yams, brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce.
