3 found guilty
MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found three guilty after arraignments and hearings were held in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Aug. 15.
Corey Bednarke, 29, Hammond, Ind., criminal mischief and criminal trespassing; 20 days in jail. A restitution hearing was scheduled for Aug. 19.
Raymond Yoder, 63, Millersburg, operating a vehicle while under the influence of a drug of abuse; $500 fine, 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, two years of community control and must attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended operator’s license for one year.
Perry Prior, 41, Fredericktown, operating a vehicle while under the influence, $500 fine, 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, two years of community control and must attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete 15 hours of community service, and suspended operator’s license for one year; and failure to control, $25 fine.

11 found guilty, four sentenced
MOUNT VERNON – Visiting Judge James Kimbler found 11 guilty and sentenced four people after arraignments and hearings were held in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Aug. 16.
Joseph Ramsey, 40, Mount Vernon, obstructing official business, 60 days in jail, with 53 days suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.
Ryan Hubbell, 18, Howard, underage consumption/possession of alcohol, 90 days in jail, with all time suspended, one year of probation and must complete a drug and alcohol assessment.
Wyatt Snell, 19, Fredericktown, allowing an underage person to remain in the presence of alcohol, $200 fine, serve 90 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment.
Austin Ratliff, 24, New Lexington, disorderly conduct with persisting behavior, one day in jail, with credit for time served.
Shawn Melvin, 36, Centerburg, driving under an FRA suspension, $250 fine; and operating a vehicle with fictitious plates, $50 fine.
Richard Karpinski, 56, Mount Vernon, speeding, $30 fine.
Bradley Combs, 46, Mount Vernon, driving under suspension, $250 fine.
Jamie Kopriver, 33, Loudonville, failing to reinstate her license, $250 fine; and failing to stop at a stop sign, $25 fine.
Audrianna Clupper, 26, Bellville, possession of drug paraphernalia, 10 days in jail.
William Waits, 28, Mount Vernon, possession of drug abuse instruments, 90 days in jail, with 60 days suspended, two years of probation and must complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete 20 hours of community service.
James Myers, 33, Southington, obstructing official business, 7 days in jail.
Brian Grove, 36, Johnstown, domestic violence on June 30, 2022, 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended, two years of probation and must complete the Court’s Hands Down program.
Noah Skaggs, 25, Hilliard, domestic violence on July 5, 2022, 60 days in jail.
Kiersten Humphrey, 21, Mount Vernon, criminal mischief on July 19, 2022, 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended, one year probation and ordered to pay $2,165.48 in restitution to the victim; operating a vehicle while under the influence, $500 fine, 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, two years of community control, and suspended operator’s license for one year.
Dakota Rhoads, 28, Mount Vernon, telecommunications harassment and menacing by stalking on June 14, 2022, violating a protection order, 180 days in jail, with 163 days suspended, and two years' probation to be served concurrently among all charges.
Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Rhoads and the Skaggs cases, and the state of Ohio in the Grove case.
Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon and the state of Ohio in these cases.

Zoe Harris, 39, Mount Vernon, driving left of center, $15 fine.
Logan Hammons, 35, Danville, driving under an FRA suspension, $300 fine; and driving with fictitious plates, $75 fine.
Law Director Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Harris case, and Assistant Law Director Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio in the Hammons case.
