MOUNT VERNON – Glendene V. Hoffman, 106, a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday July 12, 2022, at Country Court. She was born June 29, 1916, the daughter of Germaine and Pearl (Cline) Lambillotte. 

Glendene was a seamstress, gardener and wonderful homemaker. She and her husband, Claude, were married for over 60 years before his death. Glendene was known for her Christmas sugar cookies and family recipe for galettes passed down from her mother; she and her father competed each summer to raise the best and largest tomatoes in their gardens. Her close circle of friends met for mid-morning coffee on a regular basis. In later years, she became a regular at the Southside Diner on South Main Street. 

Glendene is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan (Curtis) Lambillotte of Mount Vernon; nieces and nephews Leslie Seibert (Mike) of Venice, FL, Dana Lambillotte (Gail) of The Villages, FL, Gary Lambillotte (Elaine) and Brian Lambillotte (Cindy), both of Medina, Bruce Lambillotte (Ellie) of Fairlawn and Lisa Worner (Rick) of Mansfield; Denise Freshley (Tim) of Columbus; Thomas Lambillotte, Lael Williams (Max) and Amy Dyer (Avery), all of Mount Vernon, and Charlie Lambillotte (Sheavoun) of St. Charles, IL; and all of their children and grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude S. “Tubby” Hoffman, and their son Fred G. Hoffman; three brothers, G. John Lambillotte, Duane Lambillotte, and Donald Lambillotte; her sisters Valjean Knerr and Mable Thomas; brothers-in-law Charles G. “Tobe” Knerr and J.F. “Tommy” Thomas; and sisters-in-law Betty (Clupper) Lambillotte and Anna (White) Lambillotte; and nephew J.D. Lambillotte.

Burial in Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Glendene’s name may be made to the church or charity of one’s choice. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Glendene V. Hoffman.
