GAMBIER – Three Kenyon College men's lacrosse players were selected to the 2022 Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) All-Region teams. Senior goalie Mayo Amorello and senior short-stick defensive midfielder Joe Bolea were among the second-team picks, while senior midfielder Declan Curry picked up an honorable mention.

It was the first time since the IMLCA began naming All-Region teams that the Kenyon program had as many as three honorees.

Amorello earned his award by back-stopping one of the best defenses in NCAA Division III. The Kenyon men ranked third in the nation with a defensive scoring average of 7.06 goals per game. Throughout the season, Amorello worked 940 minutes in front of the net and produced a personal 7.40 goals against average, as well as a .608 save percentage. Those marks ranked fifth and 14th, respectively, among all Division III players. Overall, Amorello made 180 saves in 2022. His IMLCA award was preceded by a USILA All-America honorable mention, as well as an All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honor that included him being named the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Bolea was also a big part of the Kenyon defense’s success. Like Amorello, he was previously named a USILA All-America honorable mention and a first-team All-NCAC pick. He did a little bit of everything for the Lords, racking up 61 ground balls, causing 20 turnovers and even logging 10 goals and three assists.

Curry took on more of an offensive role within the Kenyon midfield. He ranked third on the team with 32 points on 25 goals and seven assists. Additionally, he contributed 23 ground balls and caused a quartet of turnovers. Curry was also a 2022 All-NCAC first-team selection.

As a team, Kenyon posted a 14-4 record in 2022 and set the program standard for wins in a season.
