MOUNT VERNON – Kaye Marie Crumbaker, 80, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday morning, April 1, 2022, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Center in Mount Vernon. She was born on July 4, 1941, in Mount Vernon to the late Ralph D. “Pat” and Betty R. (Bilyeu) Truex.

Kaye was one of the first store managers hired by the Knox/Licking Goodwill in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Newark Road Church of Christ in Mount Vernon. Kaye enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting and was a huge animal lover.

Kaye is survived by her children, Roger (Lori) Crumbaker of Mount Vernon and Laura (Jon Mace) Ellis of Mount Gilead; grandchildren, Ronnie (Hattie) Crumbaker, Jenna (Eric Burkert) Ellis and Shelby (Andy) Ballantyne; great-grandchildren, Khylie, Kennedie, Konner, Matthew and Ezra; her brother, Robert (Sally) Truex of Columbus; sister-in-law, Helen Truexof Howard; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by her husband, Philip O. Crumbaker; and a brother, Donald L. Truex.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of a funeral service celebrating the life of Kaye at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, with Mr. Brent Theophilus officiating. Kaye will be laid to rest beside her husband, Philip at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Station Break, 160 Howard St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050, in Kaye’s memory.
