FREDERICKTOWN – William “Bill” Ray Seymour, 74, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 26, 2022.
Bill was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, on June 20, 1947, grew up in Fredericktown, Ohio, graduated from Fredericktown High School and lived most of his life in Ohio. He was a Navy veteran, served three tours in Vietnam and was very proud of his service to his country. After his service in the Navy and Army Reserves, he worked for Cooper Industries almost 40 years before retiring. Bill enjoyed racing, NASCAR, Ohio State football and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
Mr. Seymour is predeceased by his parents, William Lester Seymour and Betty Kearns Seymour; his step-mother, Jean Seymour; and his son, Steven Seymour. Bill’s survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary “Cherrie” Wilson Seymour; sons, David Cassinger (Angela) of Thomson, Georgia and Robert Cassinger (Shellie) of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; his daughters, Anna Ruiz of Dayton, Ohio, and Tammy Hannah (David) of Grovetown; his brothers, Joe Seymour (Gaynel) of Lowdenville, Ohio, and Jerry Seymour (Diane) of Mount Vernon, Ohio; his sisters, Judy Seymour of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Becky Parker (Vern) of Fredericktown; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His Gathering of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1495 Washington Road, Thomson, Georgia 30824, and his Memorial Service, being officiated by Pastor Gary Caudill and Pastor Douglas Thompson, will be held at 2 p.m. at the Church.
