Republican Scott Pullins announced he will run for the Ohio House of Representatives.

Pullins, an attorney in Mount Vernon and member of the Knox County Republican Central Committee, said his 18-year-old daughter, Alaina Quinn Pullins, will manage his campaign. She is a senior at Mount Vernon High School.

The exact district and its boundaries still must be set, as the Ohio Supreme Court threw out the recently redrawn districts.

Pullins plans to sponsor a constitutional amendment to get rid of Ohio’s new process for redistricting.

“Our system for drawing statehouse districts has worked well for my entire lifetime,” said Pullins. “The mess that we’re in now is what results when you hand over this authority to liberal special interest groups and left-wing judges.”

A Health Freedom Bill to outlaw mask and vaccine mandates and vaccine passports also is a priority, he said. He criticized Gov. Mike DeWine for abusing his authority.

Education reform to include more school choice options and outlawing the teaching of Critical Race Theory are other priorities he listed.

Pullins is a charter school board member, political consultant and writer. He cofounded the Ohio Taxpayers Association.

He attended Ohio University and earned his bachelor's in political science from Ohio State University. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School.
