Fredericktown holds off Centerburg in the fourth, 45-39

Despite 17 points by Centerburg’s Kayla Larimore, Fredericktown won a Dec. 30 matchup against Centerburg, 45-39.

The Freddies were led by Audrey Bouton’s six points in the first to take a 13-3 lead. Centerburg only manages a three-pointer by Kennedi Glen.

Fredericktown used scoring from five players in the second to pad the lead to 29-12 at the half, as Glenn hit another three and Larimore tallied four for the Lady Trojans.

Three Freddies shared the points in the third, and Centerburg shaved four points off the lead to close the third at 36-23. Larimore heated up in the Lady Trojans’ third, with eight points. Centerburg made a game of it in the fourth, outscoring the Freddies 16-9. Centerburg got three-point makes from Stella Weisbrod, Avery Glenn, Chloe Goulter and Larimore in the quarter, while Fredericktown relied on Cally Carpenter’s four free throws and Audrey Bouton’s four points to secure the win.

For the game, Fredericktown was led by Bouton with 15 points and Carpenter with 13. Centerburg was paced by Larimore’s 17, while Goulter and Kennedi Glenn each scored eight. 

The Freddies moved to 7-4 on the season and 4-2 in KMAC play, while the Lady Trojans fell to 1-8 and 0-6 in KMAC.
