MOUNT VERNON – Earsel Lee Elkins, 62, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at The Arthur G. James/Richard Solove Cancer Center in Columbus. He was born on Dec. 11, 1958, in Huntington, W.V., the son of the late Earsel and late Nellie (Perry) Elkins.
Earsel is survived by his wife, Janene Elkins of Jonesborough, Tenn.; children, Shawn (Jamie) Elkins of Utica and Opal Elkins of Jonesborough, Tenn.; grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Jordyn and Isaiah; two brothers, Michael Elkins of Mount Vernon and Charley Elkins of McConnellsville; aunt, Goldie Adkins of Huntington, W.V., and uncle, George Adkins of Wayne, W.V.; and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 6, at Grace Baptist Church, 20691 Danville-Amity Road, Mount Vernon, with memorial service to follow.
