PERRYSVILLE – On Sunday,Oct. 24, 2021, Robert R. Ross of Perrysville went to his Heavenly home following a period of declining health.
Robert Russell Ross was born Oct. 18, 1947, in Mount Vernon to Robert and Evelyn (Cly) Ross.
The family settled in Howard, where Robert “Bob” graduated from East Knox High School in 1966.
Bob joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged April 14, 1967.
On Sept. 22, 1968, Bob married Sharon Eileen Hay of Perrysville at the Howard United Methodist Church.
Bob was a bookkeeper by trade until he became disabled. In his spare time, he volunteered for several years as a Father Helper at McMullen Elementary School. He also served as treasurer and was a member of Pine Run First Church of God. He and Sharon later became members of North Bend Church of the Brethren in Danville.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Matthew and Taphath (Kinkel) Ross of Perrysville; daughter, Renee (Ross) and Matt Schaaf of Wooster; grandchildren, Ethan, Jared, Isaac and Michael Ross; and foster grandson, Alexander Stewart. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Connie (Ross) and Michael Dunn, and Sandy (Wantland) and Larry Beckholt; sisters-in-law, Lavon (Fridell) Ross and Opal (Hans) Swank; brother-in-law, Dale Hans; six nieces; two nephews; two aunts; and several cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Ross; brothers-in-law, Carl and Ginny (Conrad) Hans, Albert and Mae (Statler) Hans and Paul Hans; and sister-in-law, Jeanette (Randles) Hans.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at North Bend Church of the Brethren 24458 Orange Hill Road, Danville, OH 43014, at 11 a.m. with a meal to follow. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at 2 p.m. at Sand Ridge Cemetery in Hanover township, Ashland County.
