Honoring a trail system can be a fun outdoor event for the entire community, and one such celebration will take place locally on Sunday. The Bike Knox Celebration is a free community event to honor The Heart of Ohio Trail, Kokosing Gap Trail and Mohican Valley Trail as they celebrate milestone anniversaries.

Running Sunday, Oct. 10, from noon to 3 p.m., the event kicks off at the Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel-Foundation Park, 10 Pittsburgh Ave. in Mount Vernon.

Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to come by car or bike.

The Heart of Ohio Trail (20 years), the Kokosing Gap Trail (30 years) and the Mohican Valley Trail (20 years) have been a unique and beloved American trail system. The celebration will include food trucks, giveaways,  prizes, a bike obstacle course, vendors and more.
