Knox Community Hospital recently welcomed new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. John Hall, who brings 25 years’ experience in clinical practice.

As a senior physician executive and attorney, Hall also brings more than 20 years of experience serving in administrative health care management with a focus on connecting diverse stakeholders across multiple organizations. Previously, Hall served as physician adviser with a large, not-for-profit hospital system. He has developed collaborative programs that effectively address population health concerns. Hall’s background working with physicians in a hospital setting will be an asset to the KCH executive leadership team.

“Being new at KCH as the CMO, I’ve jumped in with both feet as we strive to meet the increasing demands on the hospital due to the recent rise in COVID cases and the ongoing challenges that brings," Hall said. "I’d like to heartily encourage community members to get vaccinated to protect yourself, your family and the health care community.”

With extensive experience in pediatric anesthesiology, Hall has served as an adjunct and/or visiting professor of anesthesia for several years at The Ohio State University School of Medicine and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Hall is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (among other boards). As chief medical officer, Hall will provide leadership for divisional operations to ensure alignment with the hospital’s mission and goals and help to facilitate communication among administration, medical staff and the KCH board of trustees.

“Not only has the team at KCH been welcoming and supportive, but we’ve found the community to be warm and inviting, as well, and we’re surrounded by the scenic beauty that’s unique to Ohio,” Hall said.

Hall replaces Dr. Jeffrey Northrup, who retired at the end of June as the hospital’s previous CMO.
