LOUDONVILLE – William Garrett Edmister passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 16, 2021, at his home in Loudonville. Garrett was born June 17, 1971, to Bill and Debbie Edmister of Fredericktown.

A man of service, he served in the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school. He deployed for Operation Desert Storm. Later in life, he served as an officer in the Army, rising to the rank of Captain. Truly a Jack of all trades, he owned and ran multiple businesses throughout his life. He was last the parts manager for Kokosing Materials, the most integral role in the supply chain of the company.

While he was occasionally known to be grumpy, he was one of the most selfless people around. Knowledgeable in more areas than not, he was able and willing to help, never accepting anything in return.

He was a great father who put everything he had into his three sons.

Garrett is survived by his three sons, Tyler, Kyle and Joshua Edmister; his parents, Bill and Debbie Edmister; his sisters, Collette (Todd) Hazen and Michelle (Dave) Severns; and his 18 nieces and nephews.

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldon and Mabel Edmister and Harry and Virginia Temple.

His celebration of life will be an informal gathering with food and drink as he would’ve wanted. It will be held at the Lexington Event Center from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4.

Please, no flowers or gifts.
