The East Knox golf team will be looking to expand on the success it had under head coach Stephen Sterling last year.
In his first year coaching the team, Sterling guided the squad to a 12-8 record, which tied it8 for fourth in the KMAC.
The team finished 10th at the Sectional Tournament and did not qualify for district playoffs.
Sterling feels that with another year under the helm, the team will make a dramatic improvement.
“We will be better this year as we return most of our scoring from last year with the addition of a very skilled freshman to our team,” he said. “The guys look forward to improving throughout the season and are expecting to challenge for the league title.”
The East Knox golf team landed two players on KMAC's all league team last season.
The team returns Ryan Morton (2nd Team KMAC, Honorable Mention All-District), Landon Spearman, Dylan Reed and Aidric Bocock (Honorable Mention All-KMAC) and welcomes newcomer Ashton Priest.
