MOUNT VERNON – It has amazed me the enthusiasm folks have had lately for bringing their things in to get repaired and how happy they are when the results are good (which is usually).
Mark your calendar and look around your house for broken things that might have a chance of being fixed. Repair Café of Knox County will be Saturday from 1 - 4 p.m. in the church hall of St. Paul's Episcopal at the corner of Gay and High streets in Mount Vernon.
Bring any item you need repaired that would usually get thrown away, and volunteers will give it their best shot toward getting it working again.
Check-in will be outside on the sidewalk, where you can keep social distance and simply stop back later to pick up your repair. Please also wear your mask.
Consider volunteering. It's great fun. It may be upstairs as the basement is being renovated. You'll find us as there will be plenty of signs.
All current volunteers, please come to help if you can as we need you to make this work. You're always appreciated.
