Wayne Grange met July 16 with Master Jordan Miller presiding. Elaine Hillier presented a memorial service for Phillip "Skip" Edwards. A donation was to be given in Skip's name to the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.
Sarah Howard said there were new Ohio State Grange youth directors, Jim and Sandy Russell, whose Junior Camp in June had nine attendees. July's took place the week after the meeting.

Dee Smith reported on the sale of pop at the Knox County Fairgrounds for the car show. Unfortunately, it rained and there weren't very many cars that showed up. But not all was lost, as the pop that was purchased for the car show could be used at the Knox County Fair, which took place last Friday-Sunday.
Communications for the grange were a "thank you" from the Dictionary Project for ordering for the Fredericktown third-graders. Also, a letter came from the Cancer Society, but that will be discussed at the next meeting.

Craft and photo contests were set for this Wayne Grange meeting, but since it didn't meet last month, some didn't remember to bring their entries. The grange must present the winners to the August Pomona meeting, which is Aug. 16. Since Wayne won't have another meeting before that, the craft and photo entries will be chosen on Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. at Wayne Grange.
Margaret Ann Ruhl read resolutions to be presented to the Ohio State Grange. They were to urge the Congress of the United States to prohibit robocalls and call spoofing, to limit number of riders on farm equipment on roadways and to allow small livestock on residential property. All passed and are to be presented to Ohio State Grange after signed copies by the Master and Secretary. Miller wants one other resolution of no pets riding on drivers' laps.
Discussion ensued on the repair of the ramp out front of the grange hall with a proposal from Irl Ruhl to fix bad boards, fix the back step and spray the mold from the back of the grange hall. The proposal is not to exceed $1,000, and all voted in favor.
There were many pop tabs collected at the grange hall, so Margaret Ruhl suggested they be taken to recycling, with the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House. Terri Moore suggested a note at the Farmer's Market to bring any pop tabs to help support the Ronald McDonald House. The grange will wait until Aug. 27 to complete this project.
The next Knox County Township Association dinner will be Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. Bev Edwards will be in charge of the dinner and more at the next meeting.
Lecturer's Program was Jordan Miller with a cow trivia test and prizes handed out by Clara Miller. Cathy Morey read from the 1985 Ohio Granger magazine, "The Bread of Life."
There were 14 members present, one guest and four children. One child was the newest addition to the grange, being Emma Rose Howard. A card was sent to Cheryl White as she is recouping from surgery.
Wayne Grange's next meeting will be Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. It will be a picnic at the Miller's Barn on State Route 95.
