MOUNT VERNON – United Way of Knox County has hired Kyla Brayshaw, an Ashland University graduate, as its new program director, according to a press release.

Brayshaw, a lifelong Knox County resident, will serve as the liaison between community partners and the United Way. In this role, she will assure that partners are managing investments as intended and collecting and tracking data to assure goals and outcomes are being achieved, the release stated.

She will also manage on-site programming, such as the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Poverty Simulations, Crunch Out Knox County and the VITA Free Tax Program, and will represent United Way on several committees and coalitions.

Executive Director Kelly Brenneman said in the release that Brayshaw served in college as a nationally certified peer educator and volunteered with Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“Kyla brings attention to detail, energy and passion for helping others to this position," she said. “Her commitment to helping others succeed is evident and we are thrilled to have her on our team.”
