MOUNT VERNON – Margaret L. “Peggi” Springer, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 21, 1942, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of John and Margaret Genevieve (Doup) Agnew. 

Peggi was a 1960 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and previously worked as activities director for the Ohio Eastern Star Home and The Living Center. 

Peggi was a member of the Church at Chapel Hill, the Red Hat Society and a former member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship Group. She enjoyed playing keyboard and piano, but her family and their activities were most important to Peggi. She took great pride in being a fantastic parent and grandparent.

She is survived by a daughter, Stephanee (Mark) Stump of Angola, Indiana; three sons, Sam (Liz) Springer of Mount Vernon, Erick (Jeanna) Springer of Mount Vernon and Jeff (Nancy) Springer of Heath; grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Stump, Jared (Lindsay) Stump, Jacob (Cynthia) Stump, Austin Springer, Justin Springer, Chase (Sierra Basista) Springer, Logan Springer, Mallorie (Joe) Cramer, Ashley (Shaquan Harris) Springer and Brittany Jones; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Springer, Storie Harris, Ava Cramer, Ella Cramer, Oliver Cramer, Ellieanna Stump, Elijah Stump, Laiveon Springer, Laila Springer, Kailyn Stewart and Adelynn Stewart; a brother, Chuck (Linda) Agnew of Akron; and canine companion, Molly. 

Besides her parents, Peggi was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jordan Springer and Caleb Springer; a brother, Larry Agnew; a sister, Lois Smith; and the father of her children, Donald Springer.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Church at Chapel Hill, 7530 Johnstown Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The Rev. Jon Whisner and the Rev. Troy McNichols will be officiating. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.
