MANSFIELD – Paul Sheehe, 88, of Mansfield, passed away at home on Saturday, May 30, 2021.
The son of Paul and Velma (Volk) Sheehe, Paul was born on Sept. 6, 1932, in Leesville, Ohio, at his grandparents’ house, on the kitchen table!
Paul attended Howard High School, and he later completed his GED. A proud military veteran, he served aboard the USS Rio Grande (AOG-3) and the USS Ford County (L59 711) in the U.S. Navy. Paul’s active-duty status spanned from 1952–1956 and his inactive status from 1956–1960. On Feb. 2, 1956, he married Delores Aplin. The two celebrated 65 years together.
Paul worked for General Motors as a die setter, retiring after 36 ½ years.
He lived to fish, spending much of his time at the Delaware Dam fishing for crappie and bass with his good friend, Carl Blankenship. Paul also had a keen eye for antiques. He attended local auctions and would buy, sell and refinish antiques.
Well loved by his church family, Paul was a member at Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church. He served as greeter and volunteered many hours assisting with building maintenance.
He is survived by his devoted spouse, Delores Sheehe of Mansfield; children, Susan (Larry) Foster of Mansfield and Beth (Glen) Swandt of Wisconsin; grandson, Michael Hampton; siblings, Margaret Poland of Mount Vernon, Helen Caldwell of Mount Vernon, Sandra McBride of Mansfield and Dorothy (Leonard) McBride of Mansfield; best friends, Carl Blankenship and family; and “son,” Rick Sanchez.
