MOUNT VERNON – Marcie Cantu, 50, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 11 months in prison, consecutive to the sentences she is currently serving at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville.

Cantu was sentenced to two and a half years on two other drug offenses in August of 2020, a Facebook post from the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Judge Richard Wetzel took Cantu’s guilty plea by video, finding her guilty of conspiracy to drug trafficking, a felony of the fourth degree. The judge found a consecutive sentence was proper because she had been on community control at the time of the new offense.

The judge also ordered the forfeiture of $690 to the Mount Vernon Police Department.
