MOUNT VERNON – Pamela A. McParland, 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday evening, Jan. 31, 2021, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on June 7, 1956, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late Dr. Felix A. and Patricia (Harmstead) McParland.
Pam was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was a restaurant manager, an executive sales/analyst/account executive for several advertising companies and later worked in airport security in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pam volunteered her time at the Knox County Humane Society in Mount Vernon. She liked to sail and ski. Pam excelled in needlepoint and calligraphy. She loved her animals, family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Teresa (Dave) Snyder of Salt Lake City, Utah; her brother, Alan (Renette) McParland of White Bear Township, Minnesota; and niece and nephews, Samantha, Matthew, Max and Miles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Daniel Olvera as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
