MOUNT VERNON – The Science Play-Space Initiative (SPI) Spot Board of Directors in Mount Vernon is currently seeking talented individuals with specific professional expertise in the areas of human resources management, accounting or law to join its all-volunteer board.
SPI’s mission is to enhance the Knox County community by bringing people of all ages together to explore science and technology through play. Members of this “working board” will serve on one of three standing committees: fundraising, finance, or board governance and/or as part of a working group created to advance special projects.
Board members are involved in supporting fundraising events. Our committed board members believe strongly in SPI’s mission and the majority are contributing financial supporters.
SPI is an independent 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2011. We are located in the Wright Center at 400 S. Main St. in Mount Vernon.
Our board meets:
- No less than six times per year on a defined, regular schedule.
- On the second Thursday of the month beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- At the Wright Center, or virtually as needed.
