Insurrection
HOWARD – The insurrection taking place at the Capitol building on Jan. 6 should not have been a surprise to anyone. From the beginning of Trump's administration, honesty and truth gave way to hate and deceptions continually supported by elected leaders in Congress. These leaders took an oath with their hand placed on the Bible, promising to uphold the Constitution of the United States, protecting our democracy, followed by "So help me God!" What part of that oath do they not understand? Many far-right religious leaders likewise were taken in supporting the president.
Now that the lies perpetuated by the president are being exposed, too many responsible people are remaining quiet. When are they going to wake up? Now is not the time for them to preserve their dignity!
