GAMBIER – Michael Patrick McRill, of Gambier, passed peacefully from this world on Jan. 4, 2021, in Mount Vernon. He was born on Feb. 22,1949, in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
Mike served his country in the 82nd Division of the Army Airborne in Vietnam from 1969-1971. For his service there, he was awarded an Army Commendation medal.
He served 34 years with the U.S. Postal Service, acting as president of the National Association of Letter Carriers local branch 298 for much of that time.
Mike's passions were his "kitty cat," golfing and visiting with his loyal friends. Many a laugh was shared during these visits. His close friends were family to Mike.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Kay Parry and husband Vincent; his sister, Gloria Antill and husband Gordon; and his brother, Kevin Shane McRill.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Paul Edward McRill and Margaret Bowling McRill.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
