MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon office of the American Red Cross is now housed in the Medical Arts Center at 812 Coshocton Ave., Building 2, Unit #4; providing a better means to serve the residents of Knox and surrounding counties. The building at 300 N. Mulberry St., which formerly housed the Mount Vernon Red Cross office since the 1990s, has been sold to another community service organization.
“There will be no service interruption for residents of Knox County or surrounding areas,” said Rod Cook, executive director for the East Central Ohio Chapter. “In fact, over the past decade, the American Red Cross — like other nonprofits, community organizations and businesses — has been able to take advantage of technology to provide increased program delivery with less ‘brick and mortar.’ Moving from the North Mulberry location to Coshocton Avenue allows us to focus on the organization’s core mission while continuing to make the best use of financial donations.”
“The North Mulberry building was historic and required significant upkeep,” said Kurt Anders, chief operating officer for the Central and Southern Ohio Region of the American Red Cross. “It also was a larger facility than what we needed for this office space. Downsizing to a smaller and more cost-efficient space allows us to be better stewards of donor dollars.”
The phone number for the Mount Vernon Red Cross office remains the same at 740-397-6300.
