Danville Police throw support behind ODNR Officer Kevin Behr shot in poaching incident

An Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) officer was shot over the weekend while investigating a deer poaching complaint.

ODNR Office Kevin Behr was seriously injured when he was shot while investigating the complaint. 

“Sunday afternoon ODNR Officer Kevin Behr was shot and received a serious injury while investigating a deer poaching complaint in Clinton County,” Chief Daniel J. Weckesser said in a Facebook post. “The Danville Police Department’s support goes out to Office Behr and we lift him up in our prayers that he fully recovers both physically and emotionally from this heinous act.”

Weckesser said in the Facebook post that they were also praying for the officer’s family.

“We will also lift up Officer Behr’s family in our prayers that they too will heal from the injury their hearts received upon learning their loved one had been shot and seriously wounded,” Weckesser wrote. “God bless you, Officer Behr! And, God bless your family!”

The shooting occurred in Martinsville.
