Federal authorities raided Labelle Homehealth Care Services in Mount Vernon on Thursday, Dec. 3.
Eyewitnesses said agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigations were carrying boxes from the premises.
The raid was conducted at 314 S Main St in Mount Vernon.
The U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Ohio confirmed the raid had occurred but refused to provide further information.
“We can confirm there was federal, court-authorized law enforcement activity but cannot provide any further detail at this time,” said Jennifer Thornton, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Ohio.
David DeVillers is U.S. Attorney for the Office Southern District of Ohio. A Trump nominee, he was officially appointed to the office on Nov. 1, 2019.
In his brief tenure, DeVillers has gained a reputation for bringing down corrupt officials.
DeVillers has been behind the prosecution of former Ohio Speaker of the House Larry Householder, who was arrested and implicated in a $60 million bribery scheme, as well as two Cincinnati City Council members.
