To the Editor:

GAMBIER – When are we going to work together to flatten this pandemic, protect health workers, feed hungry children and provide for small businesses and displaced workers? Congress should pass a relief bill that will provide unemployment payments to workers and small business owners; stop the evictions of people; perhaps give another $1,200 to lower-income citizens and convince McConnell that Americans, even if we’re not rich, really are important. Payments to help people survive will go right back into the economy, while letting us get through some necessary shutdowns and reduce deaths until vaccines can be made available to most people.

And yes, ask people to stop the partying and disregarding safety measures. Together we can save the lives of others and be able to open up society sooner. Then we can give hugs and not the kiss of death.
