For Robin Graham, Knox County is home.

Graham grew up in Danville; and after a decade away at college and graduate school and then working as an audiologist, she returned a year ago to launch her own practice, Elevated Hearing Center, in Mount Vernon.

The center provides hearing tests and helps patients find the best hearing aids, if needed.

“So far, a lot of my business has been from my home town of Danville,” she told the Mount Vernon News. “Very much, the patient becomes my family. I see them very often, especially in the beginning just to make sure they have something that works for them that they will wear and not end up in a drawer.”

Graham can meet patients at any time at the center.

“It’s 10 minutes away from my home,” she said.

Hearing aids these days are “little computers” Graham said, which makes maintenance and care important.

“It’s not a one-and-done kind of thing,” she said. “I want them coming back to see me three or four times a year or as often as needed. They’re always welcome.”
