The Knox County Pomona Grange met on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. We met at Monroe-Dan Emmett Grange hall with 18 members and 1 guest present.

County Deputy Cindy Campbell installed the new officers for the 2020-2021 grange year. The new officers are Marie Walker, Master; David Morey, Overseer; JoAnn Walton, Lecturer; Willis Smith, Steward; Ed Moore, Assistant Steward; Cindy Campbell, Lady Assistant Steward; Janet White, Chaplin; Etta Arnholt, Gatekeeper; Margaret Ann Ruhl, Treasurer; Diane Cole, Secretary; Terri Moore, Pomona; Cathy Morey, Ceres; Priscilla Arnholt, Flora; and Belinda Litt, Executive Committee. (Already in a three term are Ned Campbell and Lonnie Totten for Executive Committee)

Master Lonnie Totten, filling in for Marie Walker, called the meeting to order.

Family Activities Chairperson, Mary Jewell was back after having COVID-19 for two weeks in August. She is feeling better and this is the fourth time she has been out of her house. Jewell thanked everyone for all the cards and well wishes. Jewell announced the September-October issue of the Ohio State Grange magazine is out and has all the contests for next year. Hold on to last year's contests as you can enter both the 2020 contest and 2021 contest.

Youth Chairman Roy Bruce announced that the Youth are planning on meeting January 15 in the Dayton area. More details at the next meeting.

Communications were read with it being a card of thank you from Deb Hamilton. She also enclosed a check for $50.00 for the Farm-City Dinner next year.

County Deputy Cindy Campbell talked about the contests and that you can have two items next year, one for 2020 and one for 2021. The Masters Association will meet on October 11 at Morgan Grange. It will start at 2:00 p.m. Campbell talked about the upcoming November meeting, which is when we usually hand out awards and supplies. This year with no convention, the awards may not be available as they will send the awards to each individual and not to the County Deputy to be presented.

Lecturer JoAnn Walton had a program on Heroes. Readings by Belinda Litt, Pricilla Arnholt, Margaret Ann Ruhl, JoAnn Walton and Janet White. Heroes come in all forms and can be anyone around you.

State Master Sue Roy reported that the Deputy Master's meeting is set for January at the Knox County Memorial Building. The Ohio State Grange has sponsored the Fredericktown Fire Golf Outing. They will get bags with the Grange emblem on it and a cookbook. We have about 1900 cook books left to sell if you want to purchase any.

Margaret Ann Ruhl reminded everyone that "Take Back the Drugs" will be on October 24 and if you don't have the date available, you can still dispose of your drugs with the Detarra bags. If you use the Detarra bags, you can just put them in your garbage. Ruhl also announced the Healing Field presented by Exchange Club of Mount Vernon/Knox County. It will be October 16 through October 19 at Ariel Foundation Park. You can purchase your own flag for $40.00 from any Exchange member.

Next Pomona meeting will be October 19, 2020 at Wayne Grange. It will be just a meeting starting at 7:00 p.m.
