Symphony’s annual Children’s Concert to be held Sunday

MOUNT VERNON — Join the fun on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m., the Knox County Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Benjamin Locke, will present a free Children’s Concert, titled “Surprise Party.” Come hear what composers do to keep you listening to their music!

The event will take place at the Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel-Foundation Park in Mount Vernon. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be performed at Rosse Hall, on the campus of Kenyon College. Please check www.knoxcountysymphony.org for the most up-to-date information.

Gund Gallery at Kenyon College will be enhancing the musical experience by providing art activities for the symphony’s youngest patrons.

After the concert, join us for cookies and cider and the opportunity to meet the musicians.

The musical selections include Gliere’s “Russian Sailor’s Dance,” Haydn’s “Surprise Symphony,” Brahm’s “Hungarian Dance No. 5,” Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5” and Rossini’s “William Tell Overture.”
