Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries, Inc. CEO/President, Timothy J. Young, announced today the purchase of the former Connell’s Furniture building at 13599 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The new facility will be known as Goodwill Knox.
The Goodwill Knox facility will serve as the Knox County headquarters for the organization and will feature offices for the Career Services and Janitorial Contracts divisions, a new 11,000 square foot retail store, plus a 10,000 square foot warehouse space, donation center, and recycling operation. The move will also allow Licking/Knox Goodwill to expand and diversify the products and services we provide. This opportunity was made possible through the generosity and support of our community. Grand Opening Celebration is tentatively scheduled for late April.
Why is Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries, Inc. opening Goodwill Knox on Upper Gilchrist Road?
Licking/Knox Goodwill began expanding the services offered in the Knox County area in early 2018. Since then, the construction near Parrott Street has made it difficult for clients to have access to those services. With this purchase, we will be relocating the retail store and offices located on Parrott Street to the new, centrally located, facility on Upper Gilchrist Road. This will also allow an expanded showroom for furniture and mattresses. Goodwill has no immediate plans, which will effect the retail location in the Kroger Complex on Coshocton Avenue in Mt. Vernon.
When is Goodwill Knox opening?

What will the store hours be?
The store will be open Monday – Saturday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm.
What types of items will the store carry?
This location will carry the same great items as our other stores. It will also feature a wide selection of new furniture, new household items, and an expanded line of mattresses. Thousands of new items will be put on the sales floor daily.
How many jobs will the store create?
