The East Knox Local School District Board will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at East Knox Elementary.

There are three budget amendments for Fiscal Year 2021 on the agenda: $120,235 for the Permanent Improvement Fund, $81,694.32 for the Building Fund and $24,000 from Local Grants, a published meeting agenda showed.

Recommendations from Superintendent of Schools Steve Larcomb include more than $189,000 in expenditures, as well as several with uncalculated total costs. The largest recommendation is for $135,385 to purchase 300 iPads for the elementary school.

Other recommended items include $17,088 for Carson Fence LLC to install new fencing at the athletic fields, $10,600 for a scissor lift from Access Lift Equipment, approximately $6,820 for AEP Ohio to run power, and $4,850 for Southeast Securities to install a security lock at the elementary school’s main entrance.

Additionally, there is a recommendation to contract with Mancan for temporary custodial staff, paying $17 per hour with a cap of $6,120 on total expenditures through June 30, 2021.

Though there is no estimated cost, Larcomb is also expected to recommend the district pay 35 cents per mile or other approved negotiated rate to transportation providers for students who will not have bus service.
