The Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance, in partnership with the Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau, announced on April 16 that they will host Art at the Park, a community art competition and exhibition at the CA&C Visitor Center in Mount Vernon.

Art at the Park is designed to celebrate local creativity by inviting artists of all skill levels and ages to submit works across multiple categories, including multimedia, 3-D, and 2-D. The event aims to activate one of the county’s historic landmarks while providing a platform for local talent. The official call for art begins April 20 and runs through May 20. A curated selection of submissions will be displayed during a public exhibition from July 10 to August 14. Visitors will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite pieces as part of a "Community Choice" award throughout the summer.

"We are incredibly excited to bring the community together through this collaboration," said Jeff Williams, representative for the Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance. "Art at the Park is about more than just a competition; it’s about highlighting the incredible depth of talent we have here and giving artists a dedicated space to share their stories with neighbors and visitors alike."

The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau considers this event a cornerstone of the summer season, combining cultural heritage with local tourism. By hosting Art at the Park at the CA&C Visitor Center—a hub for travelers and trail-users—the organizers aim to offer an accessible, family-friendly way for residents and visitors to engage with local arts.

Several local cultural partners are supporting Art at the Park, including Kudos Artist Co-Op, The Coleman Gallery, Gallery on Gambier, Pine Row Studio, The Schnormeier Gallery, and The Annex. For submission guidelines or more information on participation, interested individuals can visit the organization's website.
