43022 Day, held on Friday, April 24, from 3-6 p.m. at Community Park in Gambier, is a community engagement event celebrating Arbor Day, local plants, and everything uniquely Gambier, beginning with an Arbor Day proclamation and tree planting, followed by activities open to all, including a picnic-friendly gathering, guided exploration of park features such as the Trifloria Sculpture, Storybook Trail, Dog Park, and Community Gardens, educational presentations highlighting conservation and the importance of trees, gardening tips from the Community Garden group, plant swaps, informational exhibits from DKMM and Knox County Parks District, complimentary lemonade from Our 3 Lemons, and food available for purchase from Mr. Bill’s Pizza food truck, offering an inclusive and informative outdoor experience for residents and visitors alike.
Celebrate Trails Day
Celebrate Trails Day, held on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the CA&C Visitor Center in Mount Vernon, Ohio, is an annual spring event hosted by the Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau that invites the community to explore and appreciate America’s trails through a full day of outdoor engagement, featuring food trucks, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with local trail and outdoor organizations, while visitors can enjoy complimentary ice cream from Round Hill Dairy while supplies last and visit the Happy Spokes booth to learn about their mission, meet their team, and discover how they are encouraging more people to experience the benefits and enjoyment of spending time outdoors in an accessible and welcoming environment.
