Due to severe weather, the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will remain closed on January 27 and 28, 2026. The decision aims to ensure the safety of both patrons and staff during these conditions. Despite the closure of physical locations, library members can still access a variety of digital services around the clock.

Available online resources include Hoopla for movies, TV shows, music, audiobooks, and eBooks; Kanopy for streaming films and documentaries; Libby for eBooks and audiobooks; A to Z Food in America for culinary resources; and Universal Class offering numerous online courses. These services are free with a library card and can be accessed from home at any time.

The library encourages patrons to stay safe and check their website or social media platforms for updates regarding reopening. "We look forward to welcoming you back soon," said the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County.
