Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) has announced a public meeting as part of the accreditation review for its proposed Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) distance education program. The program is currently an Applicant for Candidacy by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

The CAA requires programs under review to allow public comment, inviting students, faculty, clinical educators, alumni, community partners, and the public to provide feedback on the program's adherence to CAA standards. The meeting is scheduled for February 10, 2026, from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at Hunter Hall, Room 111 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Attendees can offer comments in person or submit written comments directly to the CAA before the site visit.

The accreditation process evaluates various aspects such as academic and clinical preparation and overall compliance with national standards. Public input is crucial for ensuring transparency and accountability. Written comments can be sent by mail or email to the CAA at [email protected].

Mount Vernon Nazarene University is a private Christian teaching institution offering education to nearly 2,200 students from diverse backgrounds. More information about MVNU can be found at mvnu.edu.
